Camped at The Point campground, quite crowded. We started off catching bluegill and green sunfish for flathead cat bait at night. While fishing for sunfish with my 5/6 weight fly rod, I hooked a 6 pound channel cat. WOW! What a great fight on that light gear! Took about 10 minutes to land it. Later that night I hooked what must have been a BIG flathead on my channel cat rig, a medium-heavy baitbast rod with a BPS Megacast MCM2000 reel with 17 pound test line. I couldn't turn the fish or stop it. After about 60 to 90 seconds it wrapped the line around a snag and I lost it. Also caught a 12" yellow bullhead and a 12" channel cat. No bass this time. Still a fun trip.
