Here is my rig for channel catfishing.
1. Rhino Kevlar 6.5' medium heavy bait cast rod. List price @ $29.99
2. BPS Mega Cast MCM 2000 baitcast reel. Holds 200 yards or 17 pound test monofiliment line. List price @ $ 29.99
3. Berkeley Trilene XT monofiliment line, 16 pound test. List price @ $6.99 I have 200 yards on this reel.
4. Gamakatsu Octopus circle hooks size 4/0.
I rig this up similar to a Carolina rig for bass fishing.As you can see, this rig can be purchased and set up for @ $75.00 and will handle any channel catfish you will encounter. Happy fishing! |
